In the summer of 2007 Lynn and I traveled to S.E. France around Nice spending four weeks there while Lynn finished up her French studies. I was the appartment keeper. This left me time to travel about the area and paint. The end of July and the first week in August we were off to Italy and the Cinque Terre where I did two paintings. Then it was off to San Gimigiano for a week with side trips through out Tuscany. All of these paintings were done on location.

Rocks on Cape Ferrat
Almost to the light house on Cape Ferrat near Ville-Franche
France there are a number of small coves. I stopped at one and
painted this painting. Yes the water is that deep blue. |

Rocks on Castle Hill
On the northern end of Nice France there is a hill which
once was the location of a Castle. Directly below this hill on the
Mediterranean coast looking north toward the Nice Harbor is where I
painted this painting. |

Lighthouse on Cape
Ferrat
On the north side of Cape Ferrat is a small harbor. This
is a picture looking south at the harbor and lighthouse. |

View from Ville-Franche
Sitting near the Ville-Franche park and Castle, you can
find a place where the two major lighthouses line up. The harbor
is normally quite cluttered with ships and boats. |

Castle Hill to Mt. Boron
Atop Castle Hill from the park you can look down on the
Nice breakwater and then beyond to the bottom of Mt. Boron. The
lighthouse is the same as in painting "Rocks on Castle Hill." |

View from Van Gogh's
Window $600.00 In St. Remy, Provence you can tour the Hospital where Van
Gogh spent the last years of his life. When he was alive his
window overlooked this yard. The lavender has been added for
tourists. |
