In December of 2006 Lynn and I took a trip to the Grand Canyon. The object was to find snow, and four days before Christmas we did. Two of the pictures below were taken at sunrise. What they say about the Grand Canyon and color change is true. Both of us with two cameras each, we started shooting just before sunrise and one hour and a half later we had taken over 700 pictures. The rich colors of the canyon at this time of day were very close to what are here.

Grand Canyon Tower in Clouds

you can see many ridges, points and towers. As the sun rose and
the wind picked up, the fog lifted and blew away. As it blew away,
it looked like this. |
