Forty miles south of Ontario Oregon, begins a gravel road which leads to two fantastic locations for painting. The first is Succor Creek Canyon and the second is Leslie Gulch. Millions of years ago a strange volcanic eruption occurred on a near by mountain called, Mahogany . The formations here are the result of the eruptions which came from that mountain. The formations are unique and the type of rock unusual. The color is red and yellow due to the various minerals located in the soil. Yes, it is that red!
